Laff Me Red Stripey Socks Off...

Ok....... this is probably the shortest post Ive ever done LMFAO....... Im busier then a flea on a rats arse..... but I just had to share this.....

You remember Mike who was/is still very very poorly and who took a peep into deaths door a few weeks back ....... you remember, me matie Shelley and Bob's brother....

Well.....I rang a florist's shop over in Seattle a couple of weeks ago..... and spoke to this right proper nice bloke on the phone, cos I wanted to send Mike a little something to make him smile and so that he knows that someone thousands of miles away was thinking of him and wishing him well...... so after much chat with this bloke on the phone, and after him keeping on and bloody on about how no one had ever rang from England before and how much he loved me accent, and I would be the first to ring from England and place an order, and him asking about the Queen and our Prime Minister *as if I bloody know them*.... we got down to things...... so I ordered and sent to Mike in hospital a display of bright cheery flowers in a chicken mug.... yep a chicken mug LMFAO...... and attached to the flowers was a gas filled chicken balloon LMFAO how could I not....... it was to me PERFECT :) and I hope it put a smile on his face.......

Anyways, when I was in town during the week, I went into me favourite little individual shop that I hang around in when Im in Southsea.... just picking up bits and pieces of unusual things with certain people in mind...... I hate the normal run of the mill shops and when pressie hunting I tend to find the tiny original shops......

So, I wanted to get Mike a get well card.... but I didnt want just a normal card cos that wouldn't be me LOL.... ya know, with the GET WELL SOON and a little teddy bear on it or some such thing lol...... I knew if and when I saw 'the card' then that would be the one, Im not one of those people that can just run in a shop grab the first card in sight and rush out..... so, Im in this 'different' shop just browsing through cards....

To me, when you see a card and it actually makes you Laff ya red stripey socks off and you laff and laff out loud in the shop, then you HAVE to buy it, you KNOW its the one.....

So this is the card that I will post today to Mike...... Im hoping it will make him smile...... Im hoping he will know it was picked (I drove 13 miles to the shop JUST to buy a special card for Mike) with love, and Im hoping that Mike will know that even though people can not be there in person, that he is thought of.....

I was really laffing and the woman that was standing next to me turned and looked at me like I was an alien, so I showed her the card and said it was for a poorly friend in America, she said 'I dont think that is appropriate for someone that is ill' so I says, he might be really poorly but he still has the strength to get his willy out and fiddle if he wants, or I suppose a nurse could do it for him....... she gave me 'the look' and walked off....... daft cow, no sense of humour some people lol

Go on, the card made you laff didnt it? LOL

Can you see me new spotted ironing board cover LOL.... what you cant see is about 7 piles of this what is awaiting someones attention...

Hey, just cos I have a new cover DONT mean I have to use it, right? lol

Enough quick Twaddle for a Wednesday morning.... I have to hobble to our village post office and post Mikes card.......

Slater maties.....

Ho, ho, great card. And the sentiment expressed on it is certainly better than ironing...

Mei Del said...

i dunno how the woman couldn't laugh, i'm sitting here and a snigger escaped. those piles, they look pretty neat to me already, what would you need to iron them for?

did you know that dumdad gave me an award and i tried to pass it on to you? trix gave me one a while back and i tried to give it to you too.

i know i know flea on a rat's arse - you, too busy to notice!! @!!$%!!@$$ (kidding, and because of that, i realised there's no hash sign on my keyboard)

Personally, I liked the card. I don't konw your friend but I bet he appreciates it.

Akelamalu said...

I just love that card! I'm like you I take forever choosing 'just the right card' - it has to be a special shopping trip of its own card shopping.

I can't stand folks with no sense of humour - that silly bat of a woman must have been sucking lemons!

I'm sure Mike will love the card and take the advice ((wink))

ChrisB said...

Great card, how could you not laugh..bet he loves it :)

JBelle said...

hahahahaha! but quite sober now, with a look at that ironing board! oh my!

LadyStyx said...

You're right, the daft cow had absolutely NO sense of humor. Personally, I thought it was hysterical!

Jen said...

My boys barely know what an ironing board is. I had to tell them one day, "It's that shelf that I set the detergent on in the laundry room. The one shaped like a surfboard." Then they knew.

goatman said...

You know you can order "on line" now? But that wouldn't be the fun of surprising some guy in Seattle with your order of flowers (probably made his day.)
You are a true Saint helping mikey with a good thought.
Keep brushing off the unhip and uncool who can't laugh at a card meant to please. And I'm sure that it will, being a guy and all.

Lisa said...

If I had a willy, I would twiddle it and then put on a willy warmer and prance around the house!

I think I'm missing out!

Cindy said...

I'm sure Mike will be laughing heartily! He's lucky to have such a kind and thoughtful friend as you.

ChicagoLady said...

I'm sure he'll get a laugh out of that card for sure! I know I did! No man is too sick to want his willie fiddled with.

Punkn said...

You just ain't right lmao. It definitely made me laugh, but then I ain't right either....
The ironing will wait - trust me about that - mine waits just fine.

I.Love.the.card!! Why, oh why, can't I find "appropriate" cards when I'm card shopping??

And, by the way, I have an ironing board that looks much the same as your's...with stacks that need attention!!

very apt expression about being busy...it's been that way around here, also. LOL

Have a great week, Mel...and keep us laughing. We need it...

Oops...I hope *that* doesn't give you any crazy ideas!!

I bet you actually made that lemon sucking old prune's day...she probably went home and told her spinster older sister about the card and they had a giggle over it.

I'm sure Mike will enjoy the card and I hope he's up and about and enjoying "his toy" soon.

What ironing board? I see a sweater shelf... :)

Great card and I'm sure it will brighten up his day...As far as that shop keeper...those kinds of people make you just want to "bitch-slap" them on the side of their heads! They just don't get it!!
Have a great weekend...you are a special friend to all! ;)

WW said...

HA HA HA HA!!!

And what if maybe the village idiot is no idiot at all???!!!

Throw him a few rugby questions. What's a prop? What's a scrum half?

If you don't like his answers, tell him to jump off the Cliffs of Dover or somesuch.

Always remember, if you have no expiry date stamped on your forehead, anything can happen.

Mean Mom said...

You are such a star and I'm sure that your friend will love the card that you found specially for him!

I sometimes wish that I had a willy. Particularly when I'm sitting in traffic jams. You'd just never be bored, would you? ;0)

MarmiteToasty said...

~((((ToriZ)))~ well you are to sweet, and Im serious, my lads have never had a crimbo pressie from anyone else except me under the tree :) - we was going to go to Southwick Estate today and cut our tree down, BUT its absolutely tipping it down. the rain is so heavy so thats now a NO NO.... yours will be the first pressies under there when we do get one :) - fank you sweet Tori and Kelly...xxxxxx

~(((((Casdok)))))~ aint it just lol :) .....xxxxxx

~(((Lulda))))~ I know I still owe you a jar of marmite, I aint forgotten :) - yeah Mike liked his card LOL just a little something to bring a smile to someones face in their hard day, is priceless.. yep, many people in this world need a right proper bitchslappin lol....xxxxxx

~((((Shake it all about))))~ oh stop it - I thought the village idiot was winking at me last week, so I walked over to talk to him, only to discover that it was his TWITCH and involuntary spazmo movements and not a wink at all LOL

Hey I could talk for hours about flankers and props and touch downs :) ok, well maybe minutes lol

Rubbing 'Sell by Date 2010' off me forehead LOL.......

I need me soul back first anyways lol.... and maybe thinking with me weeping hump, wonkie eye, draggy leg, I aint much of a catch LMFAO HAHAHAHAHHA.....xxxxxxxxxx

~((((Mean Mum))))~ Do you know, Ive often wondered by blokes have a little packet of 'baby wipes' in the glove compartment of their cars and one of those tree 'air freshners' LMFAO.... now I know, its so they can fiddle during the traffic jams and clear up the mess and smell :)..... fanks for sussing that out LOL..xxxxx

Tori_z said...

You're very welcome! :)

WW said...

But did you attempt to get past the minor irritant of his twitch and things to explore the real him?

And who knows, maybe it WAS a wink?

He might have an IQ of 220 and one hell of a prop (wink wink, nudge nudge).

As far as your wonkie eye, weeping hump and dragging leg, have you ever thought of moving to France?

I hear they've got lots of bells to be rung there.

You never had a best before date stamped on your forehead. It was a best all the time stamp.

I thought you were kidding about the ironing. I thought it was a lost art. In fact, I don't think I could even find my iron if I needed it. Wrinkles match my skin.

MarmiteToasty said...

~((((ToriZ)))~ you are to kind...xxxxx

~((((Shake it all about))))~ oh I attempted to get past the twitches and involuntary body movements and even the swearing and spitting... I think he is a lost cause as in 'partner stakes' lol

Now France is a good idea, I know I dont do god but I have a passion for churches and there is that famous quazi church there... SANCTARY lol....

Dam, its perminent ink on me forehead lol....xxxxxx

~((((buffalo))))~ we do have some very on the edge cards over here and some that even makes ya take a step back a little BUT I dont think our shops are allowed to sell anything utterly DISGUSTING..... I did see some well funny crimbo cards in a shop in Southsea that had old fashioned crimbo family photos on with people with miserable faces and it just said HAVE A F*CKING MISERABLE CHRISTMAS.... I suppose you send them to people ya dont like LOL..

I dont take offense at much...... Im well ard ya know :).... when I get in later today, I'll pop ya a line....xxxxxxx

~(((((soul))))))~ LOL@you.... ya need something soft and warm and slightly moist wrapped around ya appendage LMFAO..... ok, that gave me a twinge HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...ahem indeed lol...xxxxxxxxx

~(((((Helen))))~ aint it just the bestest, and it certainly made Mike (Bobs brother) smile, and that was the point of it :)....

LOL@kidding about the ironing, see that pile, now triple it, that is the ironing that needs doing in this house, I was not allowed to stand for long cos of knee stuff and its all now got to overwhelming, all I want for christmas is an 'ironing lady' for a day..... I did use to have one, well I use to swap childcare for ginger becky and her mum would do me ironing lol...... I might treat meself and just pay for an ironing lady for a whole day and be done with it.....

I find it strange to think that most doodles DONT iron their clothes lol.... my lads have to have their shirts perfect :).... bloody posers LOL.... just tuck ya wrinkles in the waistband of ya trousers, like what I do :).....xxxxxx

I like that "slater mates" why didn't I think of something clever to end my posts.

You are my silly goose. I bet Mike will get a chuckle when he sees that card and the flowers will brighten his life too. Everything helps when one is suffering. Even just knowing that someone cares enough to acknowledge them and what they are going through. I applaud you everyday for your thoughtful kindness. I bet Mike does too.

Maybe the ironning fairy will come while the household sleeps and smooth out everything in your pile.
I've been hoping she'd show up here too. Gosh, if only we could twinkle our nose and have all the chores done.

I loved "Bewitched" and Samatha was my favorite witch of all. Well Belinda from the "Wizard of Oz" was a very fine witch too. And the three witches from "Hocus Pocus" were a total hoot. Hummmm...maybe I just have a thing for fairies and witches.

Love you my friend...and I hope all is well with you and yours.

xxxJolie

MarmiteToasty said...

~((((((((Jolie)))))))))))~ ya like 'slater' LOL its local dialect here...... it means 'see you later' but cos we say fings fast down here in the south it all mergers into slater :) you can borrow it if ya want ... I liked Bewitched to, and its on over here on some gold channel lol..... the green which in the wizard of oz had me screaming as a child when me sister took me to see the film.... but now, I LOVE the green witch LOL and sometimes I cackle like that to the nippers and get them screaming.... lol

Mike did like the card and its just in me to let others know that they are being thought of..... god knows in me life, I would of given anything for someone to acknowledge my existance at times when I barely made it LOL.....

My lads do do their own ironing except they do it as they need it so that means the piles NEVER go down cos as fast as they take something off to iron, Ive washed some more LOL...... love you matie....xxxxx

Frum Helen Back said...

Are you sure you're not the only one over the pond who has kids who want their clothes ironed? If not, then it must be a doodle thing for sure cause I don't know anyone who irons t-shirts. Of course I don't iron anything. But then I'm a doodle from way back.

Jennifer said...

Ok, because me being a stupid American would TOTALLY be enamored of your accent if I was the one answering the phone! But I probably would not ask about the Queen. Weren't you a little impressed that he knew ya'll have a Prime Minister though?!??

MarmiteToasty said...

~(((Helen)))~ everyone I know over here irons..... everyone I knew whilst in the states DIDNT lol.... there must be about 90-100 T-shirts in this house and each in turn will get ironed..... we dont do 'creases' over here :)....xxxxxx

~((((jennifer))))~ I aint got no posh Brit accent though lol.... I thought all doodles knew about our prime minister?

I do know that whilst in Maine last year, me and me lad grabbed a taxi into town and the taxi driver went on and on and bloody on about our prime minister.... and I will add, the taxi was a dump, it was dirty inside with bits broken AND it was tattie and rusty with a broken wingmirror outside LOL... AND it was a proper taxi company.... it would NOT of been allowed to carry fare paying customers over here, and in fact it would not of been allowed on the road LMFAO..... so all this blokes knowledge about our prime minister went right over me head cos I was to gobsmacked about the state of the taxi LOL.....xxxxxx
