What Does This Picture Say To YOU? ........

OK......... so yesterday saw me drop nine off for school and pre-school, which left me with just the 2 babies..... I didnt wanna go home, so I decided to have a little drive down the back lanes to the next village and explore some of the little lanes I aint been down before...... If you go up Pit Hill the road disappears and its just a track which comes out near Speltham Hill..... no one really uses these back lanes except for the people in the well old beautiful houses set back from the tracks....

I know I needed a good cry yesterday so it was nice to just drive and drive and cry and explore ....... I stopped every so often in the middle of the lanes and snapped a few photos...... Im quite pleased with them.......

The first so sums up how I felt yesterday......... see what that first photo says to YOU..... Im not much of a photographer, BUT I so like this photo.... to me it says it all...

DSCF3221

This is the lane I was driving down..... if Lynn is reading this........ this photo is what I was on about before.... with no pavements...... this is the road I want to be on....

DSCF3233

The field seems to stretch on forever....... I sat by this field whilst the babies were sleeping...... just sat in the sun for maybe an hour..... the photo does not do it justice........ it was so yellow so brilliantly yellow it almost hurt me eyes to gaze into it.....

DSCF3231

This tree, or dead tree, its life strangled out of it by the ivy....... well it says it all......... it was a sign I think........

DSCF3222

This little lane/path I will go an explore this weekend on me own, I couldnt leave the babies in the car to go and see what lie at the end of this tunnel.... but over the weekend Im gonna go back and see where it leads..........

DSCF3229

This little lone bluebell is ME :) this side of the fence, whilst everyone else is the other side lol

DSCF3220

This last photo is of the same bluebell woods, except I reached through the barbed wire...... it is nice BUT it didnt grab me and shake me like the first bluebell photo......

DSCF3218

See, I can do boring posts to ya know....... just in a reflective place, thats all.......

Enuff boring Twaddling photos for a Friday.......

{{{{{Mel and me}}}}}

I know you enough to have a very good sense of what these photos say to you...and it evokes sadness in my heart.

To me, since this is what you've asked, each is beautiful and quiet and peace-filled and solitary. I feel a pull to be in each one, at each place, with each ruralscape you've depicted.

Beauty lies in each.
That is what I see.

And, in you.
-----

I hope your son delivered the message exactly as spoken.

((Mel))- I am so, so sorry...but it wasn't boring. The photographs are quite striking and I am right envious. You live in a beautiful area. I would love to see the deep, intense, vibrant, consuming yellow.

Since you needed a good cry, I hope you got one.
The barbed wire in the first photo is inescapable. I divides the viewer from the land beyond. Very exclusionary.
The second is much more inviting and reminds me of the road to my house in New Hampster. Rather comforting and familiar I think.
A fine day to you, Madam.

Some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen....only ones better are the ones takin of me...lol....*hooks self up to a lie detector*....I'm gonna fly back over one day and I'd love see these same places. In all seriousness, I've also takin rides to cry in peace. God's love is shown in places and in people, but also is God's humor ! ;-)

the pictures were great, and your site is anything but boring, i always lmao

Anonymous said...

Regarding the barbed wire, it was your choice to include it in the photograph. It would also be your choice to step past it and view what lies beyond. We make those choices every day. For me, it's more real to include it as it can only serve as a reminder to the beauty that dominates the image.

Wendy has a much keener eye than me. I see gorgeous pictures. I loved them. you. :)

Marmite, my fence-sitting friend, I SO understand. I see your feelings in every photo. They remind me of my own.

"...if Lynn is reading this........ this photo is what I was on about before.... with no pavements...... this is the road I want to be on...."

Of course, I'm reading, AND you have already left the pavement, dear. That's what brings the feelings that inspire the words and the pictures. You're not alone.

You have inspired me once again. I'd better charge the camera for the weekend. I have something special to show you -- hell, it's to show us both. I'll email you tonight after I feed the kids.

Love ya, Marms.

Marmie,
I'm sorry you are sad. Wish I could cheer you up.

I love your pictures by the way. They are beautiful.

I read your last post. Enough boring Twaddle? Yeah right, you got 45 comments on that boring twaddle.

We call a Barbeque a Barbeque around here, but it better have some good meat and some good BBQ sauce. If it is just hot dogs and hamburgers it isn't a BBQ, just a cookout. Ya have to keep up a certain standard, ya know.

If ya ever get to Texas I will take you to my favorite BBQ place. Oh my gosh, I could eat like 4 of their chopped BBQ sandwiches and not regret it.

I think you are the perfect mom for 4 boys. I really do. I think I would have gone crazy by this point. You are a strong woman.

Love, Love, Love.

Oh my goodness. I can't believe I am this crazy. I was mainly talking about Beef BBQ in general, but yes, people eat Beef Ribs. In fact, there is alot of meet in the rib area, so people can make roasts and steaks. This is where the Ribeye Steak comes from which is only the best steak ever.

I never guessed that such places and dirt roads existed in your neck of the woods. We have a kazillion miles of one lane dirt mountain "roads" with incredible views and vistas. I was up at the Centre of the Universe yesterday and the snow level was still low so it will be a while before the prime areas are accessable without snowshoes.

I stop in every so often to see what is going on on your side of the ocean, and what a beautiful and pleasant surprise (certainly not boring) I had this morning. Your post touched me. Thank you.

MarmiteToasty said...

~(((Susan)))~ :) when we over here refer to a BBQ it means anything that ya lob on the charcoals :)... be it chicken or kebabs or sausages or burgers anything..... I would love to go to one of those doodle BBQs though that we see on the telly in films...... :) xxx

~(((Star)))~ so what did you think it was like in my neck of the woods? aye? aye?.... obviously its not the 'outback' like you have in Idaho..... or Washington..... god that places looks inviting..... but its just English Countryside in the Mean Valley :) xx

~Silver~ welcome, I had no idea you popped over to have a butchers...... glad you found it a pleasant surprise..... I didnt know if it would be to deep..... xx

Go Figure said...

No idea what it looked like. I thought, maybe a lot of ocean frontage and city/industrial areas with gobs of people about. not the "outback" here. Sure some areas are semi outback, but if you want outback I suggest one go a couple of hours N, S, or E. I think the best outback is from Sandpoint north into Canada.

(((mel)))forgot to mention what i thought when i saw that pic of the single bluebelle, and u said that was you. what i thought when u said that is that you are unique, one of a kind, and u don't go along w the crowd, living your life as you please. i tell ya, i'd rather be the single bluebelle, than part of the bluebelle crowd. xoxo

~(((Starr)))~ well I live nestled in the Meon Valley..... its just 14 minutes over the hill though to the sea..... if you look at the map of my bit of the Southcoast you will see so many seafronts, from little harbours with mudflats to sandy beaches to ancient pubs sat on the waters edge to the hussle and bussle of Portsmouth Harbour with globs of people...... its so very very different within just a matter of a few miles...... Chichester harbour Basin with Bosham so old and gorgious, did you know that King Canute is buried in Bosham church.... then Bracklesham Bay and the Witterings with their long long sandy beaches to Langstone Harbour with The Royal Oak Oub and the mudflats.... then Hayling which sticks out into the ocean with one road on and one road off, then Southsea Seafront and the prom and then the harbour with the most busiest shipping lane in the world..... see thats all just over Portsdown hill and 14 minutes from here :) so I sort of have the best of both worlds...... its strange how one never really appreciates whats on ones doorstep........xxxxx

~catch~ fanks for popping over :) I hope you come back and scroll down and read some of the other rubbish..... xx

~((((Ciara slagbag))))~ well maybe just sometimes I dont wanna be different or to stand alone LOL........ :) xxxxx

Marmie...I stopped by yesterday, and I found it real difficult to write upon the first photo. It speaks at so many levels...and I'm sure it hits everyone in a different way. I can sense restriction, a portent, or denial...yest also muster the defiance of restriction, discount a portent and accept. That photo is a tough call.

I enjoyed the rest of the photos. They enticed. I'd like to walk the lane, or set in that field of gold. I am drawn more to their evocation.

Thanks for sharing, Marmie.

Have a great Sunday! I've been way too involved in other people's blogs today...gonna go out and do something for my own soul.

Hugs, matie.

The Fool said...

...and that "way too involve was not a notation with regard to here...

I just finished writing a couple of posts worth trying to "explain" an alternative perspective on someone else's site. I should know better...

But ain't reader involvement the blogger's crave? I guess I helped someone else get their fix today.

:)

~(((Foolie))))~ well that first photo I took just screamed at me.... it was strange how the photos I took on thursday reflected exactly how I felt inside........

Great News! Cowie will be so excited. Oh, the pictures...I forgot thats what the topic is. Well, stew. Yep, stew is what comes to mind. You see they all show comfy little areas for little wabbits to eat, hide, and play. I do love wabbit stew. So there it is, stew. Need to go pick up some shotgun shells.

OrdinaryShark said...

Hey Star- I was out picking up trash today and came across several 12 shells (ordinance) want 'em? So cowie is on her way? I'd lost track of the saga. Good she will enjoy the country. Does everyone get a parade Marm.

AND just because I have a blob you think I wouldn't come here for my entertainment and find out what everyone's up to? It's nor like I get the volume you do. Crikey. (Strine)
And ALSO, I've not been neglecting my duties, I've just had no internet at the house here. So the lot of youse clear owt cause I'm gonna hit the hay any Mel want the stinking light turned owt!

i was just thinking, i, too, am like that lone bluebell. not in the same way as u, but in the way that i'm isolated here. no friends, no family, i don't go anywhere, don't do anything, and steve's at work 10-12 hrs a day. we could trade lives if u'd like lol i think i'd rather struggle and live my life to the fullest, than to have it easy and not do anything w myself. anyways, just rambling...

~(((Eddie)))~ well it aint all plain sailing ya know lol..... but glad we makes ya smile..... xx

~(((ciara)))~ swapping me life in the Meon Valley for life in California lol..... well the maties part is down to you..... go pick the kids up from school and hang around the playground when ya wait for them to come out.... ya will soon find someone as much of a loon as you lol..... or get involved in ya community there...... I know hundreds of people here, ok well they probably know of me more lol...... cos Ive been involved in me community from ground level up to senior schools.....and for some reason old people always stop and chat to me.... I loves the elderly.... ya see, me, well I talk to just about anyone :)...... just like the lost pets, people seem to gravitate towards me like Im some loon magnet lol

or find a little part-time job.... or volunteer....
